Greetings, everyone.
Hope this finds everyone well.
Facebook owes me over $18,000 in pay from February to April, and I’ve been fighting them to get paid. This was money for my border tours and regular living.
Now I find myself in a bit of a tight spot because they haven’t paid me yet.
I’m in a special Facebook program that pays content creators. I’ve been working on monetizing all of my accounts on social media to pay for my border tours, and Facebook is the one that is the most promising.
In December, after I finished my 7 week tour on the border in Lukeville, Arizona, camped out there filming about 50,000 illegal aliens from around the world, I found myself in a bit of an emergency.
My day job as a writer and editor on news sites that a few of us from We Build the Wall (WBTW) ran couldn’t pay me because Google took down their ads on our sites. They did it because triple-amputee vet Airman Brian Kolfage, who founded WBTW, was listed on the Google Adsense contract.
Kolfage had WBTW construct the first-ever privately funded border wall in U.S. history. Since leftist feds put him in prison for that border wall funding plan, everyone on the WBTW team has been targeted. I was the photographer and news editor, and I filmed everything.
Long story short, Google refused to pay us $20,000 that they owed us early last year and we struggled to get a new ad company to take Google’s place. We did, but they paid very little. That led to me not being paid from November to January, even though the owner of the sites thought we would be able to. I worked for free, thinking I’d be paid.
That led me to look at social media to fund the border tours and pay my bills. And that’s when the Facebook thing happened.
Here are two screenshots of what Facebook owes me.
At any rate, not being paid for 6 months took a toll. I’ve been able to use savings and do a few small loans, but the Facebook nonpayment has messed everything up and I need to raise some funds. I’ve been selling tons of stuff I don’t use, and even camera equipment, but it’s not enough to cover everything, especially if Facebook doesn’t pay again this month.
On April 25, I got a message from Facebook saying the hold on my payments was lifted and that I should be paid around May 21st, but, even now, in the new pay period, the holds are still there, so I don’t have a lot of faith I’ll be getting my funds.
Facebook not paying has caused me to be underwater on even my health insurance, which I need since the leukemia diagnosis last year.
At any rate, I’ll be working good-paying gigs in Georgia filming major music events where Trump will be speaking from June to September. I’ll be splitting my time between those events, and hopefully on the border.
I just need to raise some funds to cover stuff until the big payments come through from Facebook.
Thanks to all who have supported the border tours monetarily. I hate to fundraise again, but it’s pretty dire because of what Facebook is doing.
If you’re able to contribute, it’s greatly appreciated. I’ve been filming borders around the world for 5 years and never had a nonpayment situation like this.
